Can Cap De Bou

On the north-east coast of the island of Majorca, in the centre of the Bay of Pollenca can be found the property "Can Cap de Bou", covering the area between the shires of Pollensa and Alcudia. History reveals that the strategic easons, the old Fortress of Alcudia was strengthened to defend itself against Arab attacks and provided refuge for the nobles. As a complementary offer, there is a vegetable garden for one's own use, swimming-pool, tennis court, a garden beside the pool and a croquet/boules court. For the children there are couple of donkeys with their carts, as well as a small "laser" boat to go sailing at the Ca'n Cap de Bou beach.

Overview of Mallorca

The Mallorca Map tour of Mallorca contains over 100 panoramic 360° high quality images of beaches, calas, Mallorca hotels and resorts linked to an interactive map. Starting in Playa de alma, covering most of the calas and towns on the island including Porto Andraxt, Polencia, Porto Alcudia and Santanyi.

Mallorca (often called Majorca by the English speaking world) is the largest of the Balearic Islands found of the South of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. This tour covers many of the calas (beaches and coves) found along the near 250 miles of coastland. There is everything from the beach fringed rocky coves of Cala Antena and the like, to long unbroken stretches sand such as those found at Playa d´Alcudia and Palma.

The most well known towns include Palma, Pollenca, Andraxt, Rajada and Arta. While most people head for the beach resorts, there are many locations inland worthy of attention, including towns like Alaro, and Valdermossa nestled in the mountains. Mallorca has a complicated history involving hundreds of years of rule by the Arabs and Moors. Town names like Binissalem are derived from this time.

While many people know Mallorca for the beaches and marinas, Majorca is mountainous in the northwest, rising to 4,739 ft (1,444 m) in the Puig Major. The inland areas of Mallorca are very popular with cyclists. The road Pollenca to Playa Formentor up the mountains to a fantastic viewing point labeled Formentor Viewpoint 1 and 2 on the Mallorca Tour. Many castles and churches were also built at the tops of the mountains. These include the Polleca Monastry and St. Luc Monestry.

Many of the coastal areas have been built up as resorts, but again many quaint small pensions and hotels can be found inland, tucked away in more restful and traditional sttings. Some of these hotels are also listed on the tour. A complete list of the hotels shown on this tour is found on our Hotels page.

Travelling around the island may take longer than expected once you leave the flat roads and head up into the mountains. Many of the roads shown on the Mallorca tour will indicate the distance between the towns and the expected journey times on the average trip.
